Kid Conrad (full governmental; Sean Baker) is a Vegas native.  He is co-signed by many well respected DJs one in particular with whom he shared the booth with on what was not only the first night I met him but also the first night I heard him play. The line up was Dave FoggTeenwolf, & Kid Conrad.  Three local heroes all at different stages of their DJ careers.

Dave was adamant about me booking Sean for VERSUS, I had never heard him play but I usually trust Dave’s opinion…turned out to be the right move.

There is something so refreshing about younger DJs who are actually obsessive music lovers with proper intentions.  I was so pleasantly surprised at not only Seans style but his seamless integration of genres.  He gave everyone that was in the room a little something no matter what they’re musical poison.  What I liked most was every time I turned around their were more people on the dance floor and with each body added Seans smile grew larger and larger.  He knew he was doing what he had wanted to do and it showed.

Its not a surprise that he has production dreams and rightfully so.  His individuality was obvious, his influences musically were respected and well received and his style has a maturity that far surpasses his age.  Although there were a lot of song choices that were far too commercial for my taste given the night at hand, he had a packed dance floor every time he got on.  It was nice to discover that he would be able to nail an opening set on larger open format nights, I think he was just a little nervous about not having a dance floor so he stuck to what he knew would work.  I’m very excited to have him back for VERSUS to see what happens when I tell him not to play anything commercial at all so he can just let go and do his thing.  That being said, I have never heard anyone else play “Galvanize” besides myself and that made me whip my head around and look to see who it was who played it…it was the youngin’.

With massive potential and a personality that’ll charm the pants off of a nun he is definitely one to watch out for and definitely one you should click clack on your computer keys to get to his mix tape page…I think you’ll be seeing a lot of Sean Baker in the near future.

Boys & girls its my pleasure to introduce you to “The Kid”, DJ Kid Conrad.
